LAHORE: (Sunday, February 16, 2025): Punjab University has secured 1st position at the 14th All Pakistan HEC Interversity Women Judo Championship held at Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam, according to a press statement by PU Director Sports Dr Shabbir Sarwar issued here on Sunday. PU team captain Sahar Waeen won two golds, while Sonia Farooq, Eashia and Jawera Qamar won one gold medal each. HEC Director Sports Javed Memon has said that "identified through PMYP-HEC Talent Hunt Program, Captain PU Judo Team Sahar Waeen has become the only athlete to achieve this feat! She secured gold in the -52kg and open weight categories and has been selected for the HEC team for inter-department competitions and the 35th National Games. PU Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali has congratulated Director Sports Dr Shabbir Sarwar, team manager Wasif and team coaches on this historic win.
